from de Vine Vineyard’s website:

John & Cathy Windsor created de Vine Vineyards out of 25 acres of fallow, overgrown, but utterly beautiful land. Family owned and locally operated, de Vine’s goal is to be your local winery. We are active members in our community, and look forward to the opportunity to meet you! On a clear day, you can stand on the Tasting Room Patio and see Mount Baker on the horizon beyond the Saanich Peninsula. In 2007 the Windsors, along with John Thomas (Vineyard Manager), started clearing and planting primarily Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Grüner Veltliner. Quickly, de Vine Vineyards became the island’s largest planting of Grüner Veltliner, a luscious Austrian white used to make our iconic Grü V wine. Since then, de Vine has diversified the vineyard using organic traditions and techniques.

From Symphony Vineyard’s Website:

Our land has been farmed by our family since the late 1950’s, first in strawberries and then 20 acres of loganberries, half of which we supplied to Growers Winery in Saanich (BC’s first commercial winery). We planted our first vines in 2004 and focus on crisp dry aromatic white wines and rosé, and lightly barrel aged fruit forward reds.

From Victoria Caledonian Brewery & Distillery’s website:

We’ve been concocting beers and whisky for a while now but we are now open for visitors.
We are very proud of our Scottish Heritage and we have assembled some of the greatest whisky makers on the planet to produce a number of premium malt, Irish and Pot Still spirits.

You can listen to them here during a recent CBC interview

Of course, it will be a few years before we can start selling our own bottles.
However, we are giving whisky lovers the opportunity to design their own 30l cask, allowing them to choose from five different spirits and ten types of wood.  See the cask page for more details.
In addition we will also be importing “guest” whiskies from Scotland and our master distillers will be creating their own blends so there will be plenty of opportunity to sample or buy whiskies.
